Of all the controversies currently raging in the Egg Custard world, the most hotly contested is The Origin of the Species.
Camp 1 posits that all the peoples of the world individually, spontaneously, and perhaps simultaneously invented (or is it discovered?) Egg Custard of their own volition.
Whilst camp 2 puts forward the colonialist theory, that the Egg Custard was brought to the East, West and South by those rampaging Northerners the English, the French and/or the Portuguese.
Perhaps we shall never know.
But perhaps we shall find out shortly.
It is one of the goals of this tome to investigate and study, and to answer the question: Whence came the Egg Custard?
